3+1 advice for problematic nails
The guests who come to the studio often ask us to help them, to give advice on what material and technique their nails should be made with but on what basis can we make suggestions and what should we do specifically in case of problematic nails?
1. CHEWED NAILS
Unfortunately, we often meet guests with chewed nails and several factors influence our work. The nailplate is small and irregular shaped, skin around it is rough, thickened and often rises to the level of the nailplate. In such cases acrylic with a special sculpting technique can be a good solution, as it has extremely strong adhesion and the structure of the material is very strong and durable after curig. It copes well with unsusual proportions, when the length of the nail bed is shorter than the free edge and during infill the part of the nail that may have popped off or been chewed off can be easily and quickly replaced.
2. THIN, OVER-FILED NAILS
A thinned, excessively filed nailplate is a special challenge, on the one hand, because the base of the nail is weak and flexible and on the other hand, it is sensitive to pressure and heat. Acrylgel Prime product line is an ideal choice in this case as the strong material structure results in stable adhesion and strong nails even on softer nail plates and in addition, hardly any heat is generated during curing, so it does not cause pain to the guest.
3. NAIL PRONE TO LIFTING
Fortunately, it is relatively rare, but there are cases when we do everything the same as with other clients but the she arrives back with lifting nails. If we have already tried all material groups and the problem still exists then we should try a combined base layer in which Hardener powder is sprinkled before curing in Fiber vitamine gel and after waiting a few seconds for the grains to be absorbed by the gel, we cure the nail. After that, we can make the nail according to the original idea with builder gel, acrylgel/polygel or even gel polish with Fiber or Elastic base gels.
+1. SWEATY HAND
On the one hand, a sweaty hand causes a headache during our work, since depending on its extent, it represents a serious risk of slipping and in addition, the paper form also has difficulty sticking to it. It is worth spraying with Prep spary several times before and during preparation and if you don't want to mess with the paper form then Full coverage technique can be of great help, for which only the gel polish is applied after a little shaping and buffering, or Acrylgel tip technique, where with reverse technique we can make sculpted nails. However, if we were to decide in favor of the traditional sculpting technique then the extremely strong adhesion of the Iron form could be the right choice.
