Nail art in the world of the Metaverse
What is the metaverse and what does it have to do with nail art? Well, more than you think! Or let’s put it this way: the metaverse can be filled with whatever you dream up. So why not dream big and start realizing your most exciting ideas? Don’t miss your chance at the NailStar competition!
NAIL ART IN THE METAVERSE
If there is one thing that everybody is talking about on the internet is the metaverse. Only a few know yet what it actually is, or what it will be, but this is exactly what makes it so much fun. The idea of Metaverse is created by the hot shots at Facebook wanting to make something bigger than the multibillion-dollar company. So, is it just another social media platform? Not exactly. The metaverse will take virtual reality to another level where ideally (if everybody has the right technology) people can meet up without actually meeting or can even work. Imagine not just looking at the screen but almost physically being in that universe. Imagine that Facebook is not just a website, but a world that you can wander the streets in, a live video game with endless possibilities.
We could indeed talk about the metaverse endlessly and still wouldn’t be able to figure it all out – this is what makes the idea itself so creative. So why not take advantage of this creative impulse and use it to improve the beauty industry? After all, cosmetics is all about innovation and coming up with futuristic-looking ideas that we soon incorporate into our every-day lives. That is why NailStar started an online competition to get ahead of the new trends and let everybody share their ideas in our virtual world.
WHY COMPETE?
We came up with the idea of the Nail Star Competition in 2008, although at that time it wasn’t quite like what it is now. Initially, it was a platform where our clients could share their ideas by uploading their latest works, and they could rate each other’s pictures. So, we thought we should turn it into an online competition where people can share their ideas without stage fright. The first Nail Star Competition was organized in 2010 and we hope there will be many more to come.
Nail art competitions are great opportunities for a number of reasons. Firstly, competitions are social events (even online) where the participants can network, find new products they haven’t used before, and of course, get inspired by other people’s work. The good thing about competitions is that everybody wins by getting more knowledgeable and skilled. Isn’t this what it’s all about?
